Obituary for AJ Ravenscraft
AJ Ravenscraft Jr., age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home in Cynthiana. He was born on March 21, 1937, to the late AJ and Blanche Ravenscraft Sr. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Jean Schwartz and Barbara Ann Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen Marie Ravenscraft; three sons, Mike (Bridget) Ravenscraft, Gary Allen (Valerie) Ravenscraft, Greg Ravenscraft; two daughters, Lisa Marie (Ross) Barnes, Tammy (Randall) Pinson; grandchildren, Kacey (Travis) Tucker, Andrea (Jim) Nelson, Shalyn (Brittany) Barnes, Shawn (Kelly) Ravenscraft, Makayla (Jack Thompson) Ravenscraft, Ashlee (Cody) Whalen, Jaslyn Pinson, Kynslee Pinson; great-grandchildren, Kalee Tucker, Briana Tucker, Kaitlyn Montgomery, Addison Nelson, Tyler Barnes and Logan Barnes.
AJ was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. He loved and always put his family first, each of whom will miss him immensely.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 A.M. A visitation will take place the evening of Monday, January 8, 2024, at Ware Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with a rosary service beginning at 7:00 P.M. Father Niby Kannai will preside over services Tuesday; burial will be at St. Edward Cemetery following services. AJ’s grandchildren will serve as his pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren.
