Obituary for Barbara Sue Follis

Barbara Sue Tobin Reynolds Follis, age 77, departed this earthly world on January 12, 2023, after an extended illness. Barbara was born on the Tobin Farms in Minerva, Kentucky on September 8, 1945, to the late Clarence Andrew Tobin and Alice Gudgel Tobin. Barbara was preceded in death by her second husband Hershel Follis and her grandparents Edward Francis and Margaret Kelsch Tobin and George D. and Elizabeth Gudgel. She also was preceded in death by a special cousin Mary Theresa Foley and special brother-in-law Charles Butler.
Barbara was a 1963 Graduate of Mason County High School where she was a member of the first Mason County High School Varsity Cheerleading Squad. She was a retired real estate broker with Century 21, where she owned three offices in Las Cruces NM and resided for over 16 years. Barbara was a well-known local Historian specializing research on Mason and Bracken Counties and the Reynolds Family Lineage. She was a founding member of the SHARE Historical Society in Augusta, Ky. Barbara was also a horse enthusiast from an early age as her Daddy farmed with horses and mules her entire childhood, enticing her love for these animals. She was a well-known Owner, Breeder and Exhibitor of World Champion Tennessee Walking Horses for many years and enjoyed her time immensely while living in Shelbyville, Tn.
Barbara is survived by one son, Andy Reynolds of Brooksville, Ky and his wife Sandra Garrett Reynolds, whom she loved dearly. Also surviving is her sister Margaret Ann Butler of Ft. Mitchell, KY, her grandson Chad Reynolds (Tara) of Harrodsburg, Ky and her great grandchildren Delaney, Garrett, Kaleigh and Gradey Reynolds, whom she absolutely adored, and a very special in law Glenna Garrett of Brooksville, Ky. Additionally she is also survived by her nephew Chuck Butler and nieces Julie Moellering, Leann Cline and Julie King, and her first husband Neider Reynolds whom she remained friends with throughout her life. Barbara is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. James Catholic Church located at 3221 Dover Minerva Rd, Minerva, Ky, 41034 on Wednesday January 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Father Andrew Young will perform the Mass. Visitation will be prior to the mass at the church from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Burial will be in the Tobin Family plot at St. Patrick’s Cemetery located at 1890 A St., Maysville, KY 41056 immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family has requested all donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or St. James Catholic Parish in her memory.
