Obituary for Barbara Ann Helton (Jernigan)
Barbara Jernigan-Helton, age 58, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She was born on October 12, 1963 at DePaul Baptist Hospital in Norfolk, VA to David A. Jr. and Sandra Ann Franklin Jernigan, both of Virginia Beach. She is preceded in death by one nephew, Tyler Jernigan.
Barbara loved her family, gospel music, and gardening. She had many chickens and raised Labrador Retrievers. She accounts her greatest success is her family. All good, hardworking, and loving people.
She leaves behind her husband, Michael Helton; five children, Jonathan (Ashley), William (Breanna), Vanessa (Anthony), Alyssa (Skip), and Michelle (Linsey); three brothers, David (Kim), Paul, Jesse (Samantha), and one nephew, Taylor; one sister by love; Devin Aubrey; twelve grandchildren, Will, Jessie, Wesley, Ava, Cameron, Cadence, Daniel, Luke, Xavier, Aaliyah, and Jayla; one great-grandchild, Mason; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins all of Hampton Roads.
