Obituary for Barbara Lane Morgan

Barbara Lane Morgan, age 79, Owenton, died Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Owenton Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Owenton. Born in Bracken County on November 22, 1943 to the late Russell Grafton and Hazel Beatrice Brown Morgan, she was 1963 graduate of Pendleton County High School, a farmer, a server, a bartender and attended Beechwood Assembly of God. Barbara was a rattlesnake handler where she placed 3rd in a local hunt in Oklahoma in 1979. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, George Allen Claypool; two brothers, Charles Morgan and Donald Morgan and a sister, Jerlyn Faye Tovar.
She is survived by a son, Lane Allen Claypool; a daughter, Charlotte (David) Ordonez; a brother, Elwood “Woody” (Barbara) Morgan; two sisters, Brenda Kay Claypool and Carolyn Mae Claypool; four grandchildren, Amber (Chino) Moran, Nathan (Kayla) Linville, Kayla (Wesley) Westfall and Heather Linville; six great grandchildren, Alexis, Brayden, Gabriella, Kayleigh, Isabella and Laurel and she was excited about the arrival of Wyatt, her seventh great grandson, expected in February 2023.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 P.M. Thursday at Ware Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, 4297 Kentucky Highway 596, Mayslick, Kentucky 41055 following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunrise Children Home, 2465 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40503.
