Obituary for Billy Carroll Ashcraft

Billy Carroll Ashcraft, 80, of Mount Olivet, KY, passed away on September 29, 2012 at the Veterans Hopsital in Lexington, KY. Born in Covington, November 26, 1931 to the late Clyde Ashcraft and Mable Linville Ashcraft of Mount Olivet.

He is survived by his wife of 49 year, Betty Anderson Ashcraft, whom he married October 6, 1962, one daughter Anita Ashcraft-Corbin of Ewing, KY, one sister Dorthy Clyde Murray of Cynthiana, two grandchildren, Chandler Tyler Rae Corbin and William "Chance" Walton Corbin both of Ewing, KY. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Freddie (Teresa) Anderson and Eddie(Lorane) Anderson, one sister-in law, Doris Cain (Gary Acuff) all of Mount Olivet, two nieces Sandra Murray of Mount Olivet and Linda (Garland) Perry of West Liberty and his mother-in-law, Bessie Anderson of Mount Olivet.

He was a 1950 graduate of Deming High School and was a member of the Kentontown Christian Church. He served in the Navy on the USS Mispillion from 1951 to 1954. For many years, he was a dairy farmer, beef cattle producer, and tobacco farmer. He was active with the Masonic lodge for more than 50 years and the Order of the Eastern Star #333 in Mount Olivet for more than 25 years. He was a Robertson County magistrate for 33 years. He was a member of the Germantown Fair Board for 30 years a teh Kentucky Board of Simmential Cattle Association.

The visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday with an Eastern Star service to immediately follow. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., and will be officiated by Rev. Doug Wright and Bro. Dee Whitaker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Citizens Deposit Bank of Mount Olivet, where an education fund has been established for his grandchildren.
