Billy Joe Sumpter, age 75, of Cynthiana, passed away January 20, 2020 at his residence. Born in Georgetown on January 28, 1944 to the late Arch Sumpter and Bessie Lee Sutton Sumpter.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Linda Bailey Sumpter; a daughter, Krystal Harney; two sisters, Reba Faye Sumpter and Joy King; two brothers, Larry Sumpter and Tommy Sumpter and a grandson, Cameron Perkins.
Billy is survived by three sons, Billy Joe Sumpter Jr., Barry Sumpter and Michael Sumpter; two daughters, Kimberly Day and April Massey; two brothers, Alex Sumpter and Donnie Sumpter; two sisters, Wilma Bolton and Linda Richardson; twenty grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
