Obituary for Bobby D Rorer

Bobby Duke Rorer, son of the late Charles Newton Rorer and Irene Smith Rorer, was born on May 29, 1924.
His wife, Dana Childress Rorer; one son, Christopher Duke Rorer; two daughters, the late Linda Lee Perraut, Robin Rae Taylor; one stepson, Kenneth Walter Jorette; nine grandchildren, Pamela Coleman, Jimmie Perraut, the late Christopher Perraut, Ran Perraut, Adam Perraut, Emily Taylor, Kelly Taylor, Brandy Taylor, Branden Rorer; two step grandchildren, Wesley Jorette, Emma Jorette; several great, and great great grandchildren; and one sister, Audry Rorer.
Bobby was a member of Salvisa Baptist Church in Salvisa, Kentucky.
He served three years in the South Pacific Theater during World War II as an equipment operator with the 871st Airborne Engineers.
He was a commissioned member of the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory Advisory Committee appointed by Governor Paul E. Patton. Commissioned as an Honorary Commissioner of Agriculture by Billy Ray Smith, the former commissioner of Agriculture for Kentucky. He was also a member of the Kentucky Commission Community of volunteerism appointed by Governor Steve Beshear. Bobby was also a Kentucky Colonel and Kentucky Admiral.
He was a former member of the American Legion Post 34 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and a former board member of the Anderson County Chamber of Commerce.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday May 22nd at Battle Grove Cemetery. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, Carrollton, KY 41008. View and sign the guest book www.warefuneralhome.com.
