Obituary for Bradley Gifford

BRADLEY GIFFORD, age 65, Robertson County, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born May 9, 1947 in Maysville to the late Woodrow and Doris Fryman Gifford, he was an active lifetime member of the New Corinth Church of Christ, big fan of University of Kentucky and Deming basketball, avid sports enthusiast, loved hunting, fishing and golfing. Mr. Gifford was a former fifteen year employee of Ladish Inc., previous co-owner of Houchens & Sons Hardware Store and retired Robertson County Judge Executive. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife of thirty-four years, Deborah Houchens Gifford and father in-law and mother in-law, Norman and Genevieve Houchens.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Story Gifford; two daughters, Treva (Jeff) Woods and Kristen (Terry) Fryman, both of Robertson County; three step-daughters, Amy McCarty (Chris) Hyde, Canton, Michigan, Tabatha McCarty (Doug) Mack, West Union, Ohio and Jodi Grooms, Canton, Michigan; a brother, Steve (Janet) Gifford, Robertson County; mother in-law, Juanita Story, Ewing; two brothers in-law, Dwight (Peggy) Houchens, Mt. Olivet and Jeff (Laura) Houchens, Mayslick; two grandchildren, Keshia Woods and Madison Fryman; five step-grandchildren, Kristain Fryman, Cody Hyde, Kaylee Hyde, Kennedy Hyde and Ryan Mack; a nephew, Clifton (Jennifer) Gifford; a nephew in-law, Damian (Renae) Houchens and three nieces in-law, Jessica (Jamie) Fulton, Peyton Houchens and Taylor Houchens.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the New Corinth Church of Christ by Bro. Dee Whitaker. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. Monday at the Deming School Gymnasium and 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in New Corinth Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson County Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deborah Gifford Memorial Fund at the Citizen Deposit Bank, Mt. Olivet, Kentucky 41064.

Active pallbearers will be Phillip Messer, Terry Price, Wayne Cooper, Ralph Reed, Ryan Reed and Randy Insko. Honorary pallbearers will be Yogi England, Jimmy Staggs, Perry Gifford, John McBride, Alton Staggs, Norman Staggs and Bobby Burden.
