Obituary for Carl D. England

CARL D. ENGLAND, age 71, Mt. Olivet, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Robertson County Health Care Facility. Born in Maysville, January 16, 1943 to the late Carl Wesley and Christine Faul England, he was a steel worker for Ladish Company for 36 years, a member of Kentontown Christian Church, was an avid hunter, fisherman, softball player and enjoyed UK basketball. Mr. England loved beach vacations with his family and received a kidney transplant in 2006 from his niece, Sandy Sweeney, which improved and extended his life. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Graves England.

He is survived by a son, Duane England, Mt. Olivet; a daughter, Jodie Sharp, Mt. Olivet; two brothers, David (Kathy) England, Winchester and Larry (Debbie) England, Germantown; two sisters, Bertha Ann (Gary) Truesdell, Tollesboro and Jane (Paul) Jett, Sunrise and two grandchildren, Travis Allen Sharp and Conner Wesley England.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Ed Applegate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kentontown Christian Church or American Diabetes Society.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Miller, David Carmack, Joey Caldwell, Matt Graves, Danny Jett, Doug Jett and Timmy Jett. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Cooper, Slick Garrison and Junie Tilton.
