Charles Lucas, 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 30th, at Harrison Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Charles was born April 15, 1940, in Bracken County, Kentucky, to the late Raymond and Mabel Lucas. Charles was preceded in death by an older sister, Betty (Brownie) Hamilton; two brothers, Bobby (Janice) Lucas and JW (Barbara) Lucas.
Charles was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was most happy when he was with his family and grandchildren. He retired from the Kentucky State Highway after 38 years of service.
Charles is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, Margaret Lucas; sons, Jeff Lucas, Randy (Brenda) Lucas; younger brother, Phil Lucas. He is also survived by several grandchildren, Justin (Kate) Lucas, Aaron (Britni) Lucas, Nichole Lucas, Bailey (Connor) Owens and Shelby (Robert) Gibson. Charles also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, Natalie and Addison Lucas, Gannon and Laikyn Lucas, Lennon Owens, and Sadie Gibson. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
