Obituary for Charles "Chopey" Martin

CHARLES C. "CHOPEY" MARTIN, age 82, Mt. Olivet, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville. Born in Nicholas County, April 4, 1930 to the late Rolla and Mary Brumagen Martin, he was a retired farmer, a United States Korean War Navy veteran and a member of Piqua Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Julian C. Martin and a sister, Emogene Martin Stephenson.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Clever Martin; two sons, Troy (Lesley) Martin and Darrin Martin, both of Robertson County; a sister, Dora Martin (Larry) Beckett, Robertson County; three grandchildren, James D. (Katie) Martin, Victoria Leigh Martin and Kenneth Charles Martin and three great grandchildren, Whitley Martin, Reece Martin and Broedy Harris.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Daniel Simonton. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. Burial will be in Piqua Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Piqua Cemetery or Hospice of Hope.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Martin, James Martin, Pat Norris, Jamie Brumagen, Kyle Case, Bill Thomas, Ashley Pratt and Jack Morehead. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McBride, Ronnie Florer, Eddie Jacobs, Jim Thomas, Bobby Case and Clarence E. Thomas.
