Obituary for Charles L. Wheary

CHARLES L. WHEARY, age 94, Mt. Olivet, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Covington, March 11, 1920 to the late Velva and Miriam Saunders Wheary, he was a United States WWII Army Veteran, huckster truck driver, Deming School bus driver and a milk truck driver. Mr. Wheary was also a carpenter, Volkswagen mechanic, a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #291 in Mt. Olivet. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-five years, Wanda Lee Wheary and six sisters, June, Bessie, Birdie, Lela, Dorothy and Goldie.

He is survived by a son, Mickey (Janie Burns) Wheary, Mt. Olivet; a brother, Robert (Ginger) Wheary, Florida; many special nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Pastor Bill Henry with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International or one's favorite charity.
