Obituary for Donald Price

Donald (Don) Price of Mount Olivet, Ky passed on November 27, 2023, at the age of 91.
He was born on January 31, 1932, at the family’s Central Ridge Road residence to the late Earl R. And Anna French Price of Robertson County, KY. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joy Sue Wells; a brother, Richard F. Price; and three nephews, Stephen Price, Larry Price, and Michael Price.
Don was married to Joy for 57 years and together they had four children, Terry (Patti) Price, Donna Sue (Stephen Grayson, Ricky (Christina) Price and Darlene (Phillip) Messer all of Mt. Olivet, KY. He is also survived by, eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Missy) Messer, Robyn (Dana) Thornburg, Matthew (Christy) Grayson, Susan (Lee) Ashcraft, Brandon Price, Chad Price, Alyssa Price, Kaylen (Kurt) Robinson and thirteen great-grandchildren, Westin, Cole and Joy Messer, Alex Dillow, Tripp Grayson, Julie and Beau Ashcraft, Alex, Marlee and Sylas Robinson and Izaiah, Gabe, and Nehemiah.
Don leaves behind his fiancé, Janice Ignatovich, with these words written and left to her: “Her love to me gave me a reason to go on after my wife’s death. She helped me through multiple surgeries, a stroke and a lot of different health problems.” His words for his pet were that he was leaving behind “my little buddy Bella (pup) who will miss me dearly.”
Don was a lifelong Robertson County farmer. He raised tobacco, corn, soybeans, hay and cows. He was well-known as the owner and operator of #600 Carnation Milk Route in the 1950s. In the 1960s, he owned and operated a limestone and fertilizer spraying service. In 1970s, he worked for KY State Transportation with a special bridge crew. In 1990s to 2010, he hauled water to people for their cisterns and was known by many people as the “Water Man”. He was an avid lover of country music all of his life and loved to dance. He continued to dance until he was 83 years old, when he had a stroke.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Kentontown Christian Church, with visitation on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Kentontown Christian Church from 5:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Jeremy Messer, Matthew Grayson, Brandon Price, Chad Price, Ricky Price and Terry Price.
