Donna Sue Smith, age 72, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on December 10, 1949, to the late Paul Carroll and Wanda Hamlin. She is also preceded in death by a stepfather, Elmer Hamlin; and a brother, Bill Carroll.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Smith; a sister, Darlene (Larry) Lukaschek; a brother, Ricky Lee Carroll; three daughters, Michelle (Kevin) Florence, Nevia Garrison, Eugenia (Peanut) Soard; one son, Billy Jack (Amanda) Smith; one step-daughter, Melissa (Mark) Clark; six granddaughters, Whitney (Josh) Smith, Katelyn Soard, Nickie (Carl) Hogg, Sierra (Rickie) Scalf, Samantha Griffin, Emma Smith; seven grandsons, Anthony (Jessie) Florence, J.W. (Nina) Soard, Alex (Katie) Florence, Austin Garrison, Jesse Jones, Josh Asher, Little Bill Smith; as well as nine great granddaughters; and thirteen great grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Carl Kinne, Billy Ross, David Stinnett, Josh Smith, Alex Florence, J.W. Soard, Austin Garrison, David Smalley, and Kevin Florence. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Garrison, J.W. Soard, Little Bill Smith, Anthony Florence, Alex Florence, Jessie Jones, Josh Asher, and James Friend.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to services, beginning at 11:00 AM, also at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery, and Dr. Larry Bishop will preside over services. Donations toward her services may be made to Ware Funeral Home.
