Obituary for Ernest Rees Gossett Jr.
Ernest Rees Gossett Jr., 85, died at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2022. He was born in Cynthiana, KY, on August 28, 1937, to the late Ernest Rees Sr. and Mary Lebus Gossett. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Gossett.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Mary Spegal Gossett; two daughters, Susan Rees (Jason “Bucky”) Gossett Walters, of Jamestown, and Frances Kimbrough Gossett of Louisville, KY; two grandsons, Adam Rees Walters, Luke Huffman Walters; a sister, Martha (Jim) Snodgrass of Cynthiana, KY; one brother, Larry (Pam) Gossett of Germantown, TN; a sister-in-law, Linda Gossett of Flemingsburg, KY; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cynthiana and attended Unity Christian Church.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Ware Funeral Home. Dr. Ted Beam and Dr. Bruce Templeton will officiate. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, also at Ware Funeral Home.
