Obituary for Evan Wayne Mastin

Evan Wayne Mastin, 83, of Germantown, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville. He was born in Robertson County on May 15, 1940 to the late Raymond Paul and Eloise Garrison Mastin.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Lorena Joy Craig Mastin, and a brother, David Paul Mastin.
He is survived by his children: Wayne (Susanne) Mastin of Germantown, Dale (Susan) Mastin of Germantown, Cindy (Louie) Neff of Maysville, and Craig (Tammy) Mastin of Maysville; grandchildren, Tyler Powell, Wade Mastin, Morgan Mastin, Erica Mastin-Reynolds, Joey Mastin, Baylie Mastin, and Layne Mastin; brother-in-law Jerry Craig of Lexington; sister-in-law Lisa (Mark) Sutton of Mt. Olivet; and several nieces and nephews.
After serving in the Army and Army Reserve from 1962-1968, Evan spent years as a carpenter and builder before settling in the Germantown community to farm and raise his family. Although widely known for a solid work ethic, which he passed on to his children, he did enjoy working with draft horses in his spare time, even winning a few awards along the way in some regional shows.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Robertson County Funeral Home at the time of 1:00 P.M., with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M. Brother Jackie McElfresh will officiate services and burial will be conducted in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Germantown United Methodist Church, c/o Charlie Switzer, P.O. Box 146, Germantown, KY 41044.
