Obituary for Geneva May Jones Roark (Whitaker)
Geneva May Whitaker Jones Roark, 96, of Cynthiana, KY, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024. Born in Harrison County on March 15, 1927, the eleventh child of the late Archie Mack and Ollie Hiten Whitaker. She married Paul Jones on February 6, 1944, they had four children: Kenneth (Wanda) Jones, Janice (John) Caldwell, Ricky (Marcy) Jones, and Ronnie (Bernadine) Jones.
Geneva and Paul had forty years together before his passing in April of 1984. She then married Charlie Roark about four years later. They had two plus years of marriage before his passing.
Geneva is survived by her four children, grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Geneva was an avid reader, loved her church, Cynthiana Baptist Church, she was a real people person, as well as a Harrison County Homemaker. She will be missed dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 A.M., also at Ware Funeral Home. Bro. Roger Anderson will preside over services, and burial will follow services at Beard Cemetery, 2601-2699 Davis Rd., Sadieville, KY 40370. Geneva’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
