Glen Roy Thacker, of Carlisle, KY, age 80, passed away on February 23, 2024. He was born in Estill County on April 18, 1943, to the late Robert and Callie Dickerson Thacker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessica Thacker; daughter, Sandra Thacker Pasley; and several brothers, sisters, and special friend JoNell Barnes.
Glen was a KY Colonel and enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes, playing music and spending time with his grandbabies.
He is survived by a son, Robert Thacker; daughters, Sueann (Chris) Morgan, and Glenda (Jeff) King; brothers, Kenneth (Barbara) Thacker, Jimmy (Sue) Thacker; grandchildren, Dakota Thacker, Christopher Morgan, Asiah (Zach) France, Caleb Morgan, Tanner Morgan, Callie Rose Morgan, Daniel Bartels, Calvin Bartels, Kaitlyn Rose Bartels, Lexi King, David King, and Tori Jasser; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Ware Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cobhill Cemetery, 2500 Cob hill Rd, Irvine, KY 40336. Active pallbearers are Jeff King, Chris Morgan, Caleb Morgan, Daniel Bartels, Calvin Bartels, and Tanner Morgan Honorary pallbearers are Allen Vanderpool, Billy Dixon, Doug Wagner, and his personal caregivers.
