Obituary for Glenda Brinker (Thurston)
Glenda Thurston Brinker, age 80, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was born in Corbin, KY on July 20, 1942, to the late Jack and Edna Freeman Thurston. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan Brinker.
Glenda taught school for forty-two years in both Harrison County and in Corbin, KY.
She is survived by her sons, Glen (Kim) Brinker, Patrick (Rebecca) Brinker; her beloved granddaughters, Kelsey and Kylee Brinker; two sisters, Delores (Glen) Higgins, Shelby Pennington; her younger brother, William Jackson “Billy Jack” (Juanita) Thurston; multiple nieces and nephews; and a multitude of students whom she thought of as her own children.
