Obituary for Helen Vernon Bowen (Edwards)
Helen Vernon Edwards Bowen, age 89, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at her home. She was born in Harrison County on June 7, 1932 to the late Vernon and Patsy Kendall Edwards. She married Frank Lair Bowen on August 25, 1950 who preceded her in death on March 19, 2003.
Helen is survived by three children; Charles (Jennifer) Bowen, Williamstown, KY; Nancy (Ray) Wagner, Columbus, IN and Linda (Tim) Shuffett also of Columbus, IN. She is also survived by one brother, Maurice (Virginia) Edwards of Paris, KY.
Grandchildren fondly remembering their Mamaw are; Tracie Johnson, Brandon (Jessica) Bowen, Rebecca (Curt) Webster, Eli (Sheri) Sautter, Shelley (Kevin) Kendall, Jennifer (Michael) Leary, Christopher (Lindsay) Wagner, Hayden (Ashley) Shuffett and Erin Shuffett. Great and great, great-grandchildren also survive.
Helen enjoyed playing the piano, having played for Colemansville Christian Church for over 50 years and had a love of music until her final days.
Helen lived in the Renaker community all but one year of her 89 years of life. She will be remembered as friend and neighbor to young and old alike, Always willing to lend a helping hand or advice to those in need and will be greatly missed.
A funeral will be held Thursday, July 1st at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of the service, at the direction of Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, KY with Pastor Dennis Jackson, officiating. Burial will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, KY.
