Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Neesy” McNees Jr; a brother, Larry Shadd; a sister Martha Geoghegan; and a grandson, Michael Stephen Cline II.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond (Jackie) McNees III, Robert (Terri) McNees, Richard McNees; two daughters, Ramona (Michael) Cline, Rebecca (Billy) Fisher; eight grandchildren, Raymond McNees IV, Matthew Cline, Will Fisher, Seth Fisher, Bailey McNees, Brooke McNees, Sarah McNees, Sophia McNees; a great-granddaughter, Madlyn McNees, and a special angel, Teresa Wethington and her staff.
Helen was a life-long active member of the Cynthiana Baptist Church. She devoted much of her time serving her church and participating in the Agape Sunday School Class, Women’s Missionary Union, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Awanas. Helen was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in the Ladies Golf Association at the Cynthiana Country Club. She went on to become a member of the Women’s Central Kentucky Golf Association where she played in many tournaments across the state. She was a huge UK fan and would never miss a game. If it wasn’t televised, she would intently listen to the play-by-play analysis of Caywood Ledford or Tom Leach.
