Helen Layton Palmer, of Cynthiana, KY, age 83, passed away on March 14, 2024, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cynthiana, KY on September 18, 1940, to the late Earl Hammond and Mayme Sidles Palmer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hervy “PeeWee” Palmer; sisters, Carolyn King, Kary Marsh, Janet Perkins; and beloved companion, David Shipp.
Helen retired from Blue Grass Army Depot and spent six months in Desert Storm for military support. She was a loving and wonderful mother to three children; she lived her entire life for everyone besides herself.
She is survived by sons, Stephen (Debbie) Ecklar, Stewart (Cindy) Ecklar; Daughter, Jana (Doug) Leggett; sister, Bess Lou Irle; grandchildren, Robert Douglas Ferrell, Stephanie Paige Mounce, Carroll Ann Ecklar, Maxwell Ecklar, Bradley Scott King, Lindsey Ecklar; great-grandchildren, Carson Mounce, Ian Sheffield, and several nieces and nephews.
