Obituary for Helen Frances Burns Sims

HELEN FRANCES BURNS SIMS, age 87, Brierly Ridge Road, Mt. Olivet, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility. Born in Robertson County, July 23, 1922, to the late Jack and Hazel Manning Burns, she was a homemaker, a member and former Sunday School Teacher of the Mt. Olivet First Christian Church and a charter member of the Robertson County Homemakers. Mrs. Sims was a member and past Deputy Grand Matron of the Mt. Olivet Eastern Star Chapter #333 and a former Sunday School Teacher of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lannis Keller Burns and a sister, Doris Burns Ritchie.

She is survived by her husband of sixty nine years, Ernest Dayton Sims; a son, Larry B. (Janet) Sims, Winchester; four sisters-in-law, Sylvia Burns, Corinth, Doris Rosenbaum, Lexington, Lucy (James) Meeks, Ashland and Patricia Ann Sims, Mt. Olivet and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Stephen Staggs. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with graveside services to be held at the funeral home following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.

Active pallbearers will be Paul Walters, Steven Ritchie, Cole McCreary, Jason Hughes, Keith Tuel and Rob Linville. Butch Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
