Obituary for Hester Rose Moore Stewart

Stewart, Hester Rose Moore, wife of Doyle K. Stewart, died at home on Tuesday, April 30.
A Robertson County native, she was born on July 30, 1930 to Lutie Hester and Dewey Moore.
Hester Rose graduated from Deming High School, Morehead State University, the University of Kentucky (Master's); and Southern Illinois University (Doctorate).

She taught at the University of Delaware, Georgia Women's College, and Deming and Bracken County High Schools in Kentucky. She also served as Coordinator/Executive Director of the Bay, Franklin, Gulf Healthy Start Coalition; Consultant/Contractor of Bay District Schools in Florida; and was a Legislative Assistant with the Delaware Legislature.
Hester was a life-time member of New Corinth Christian Church, and an active member in the Democratic Women's Club of Kentucky. She had just recently helped to start the Tri-County Club of Mason, Robertson and Bracken Counties.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, survivors include: daughters Donna Rose Harding (Doug) Isaacs, Lexington, and Susan Harding Wunderlich, Frankfort; stepson Allen (Pam) Stewart, OK; grandchildren Sararose Isaacs (Justin) Graham, CT; and Beth (Craig) Teifert, NJ; sister Colleen Moore Case, OH; stepgrandchildren Morgan Stewart, OK; Barry ( Angie ) Stewart, Jason Stewart and Ryan Stewart, OH; greatgrandchildren Jack and Tyler Teifert, NJ. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son-in-law Robert Wunderlich, stepson Lynn Stewart, sisters Eloise Henderson and Lucille Sandifer, and brother Edgar Hitt.

Services for Hester will be held on Friday, May 3 at the New Corinth Christian Church at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 2 at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
