Obituary for J. B. Overbey

J. B. OVERBEY, age 81, Mt. Olivet, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Hospice of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. Born in Robertson County, November 27, 1931, to the late Alva and Florence Massey Overbey, he was a former Blue Licks Battlefield State Park employee and a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and his love for his dogs was well known by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister Christine Jett Chandler.

He is survived by a sister, Adelaide Overbey Linville, Moneta, Virginia; a niece Sarah (Jim) Hunt, Moneta, Virginia; three nephews, Perry (Dorothy) Linville, Decatur, Alabama, Larry (Joyce) Linville, Hemlock, Michigan and Billy (Betty) Jett, Lexington, Kentucky and two special cousins, Roy Overbey, Ewing, Kentucky and Annette Lovins, Mt. Olivet, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Robertson County Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robertson County Animal Shelter.
