Obituary for Janet Lee Breunig

Janet Mitchell Breunig, 58, Paris, died Friday, October 9, at UK Medical Center.
She was born March 9, 1962, in Nicholas County. She was manager of JoAnn Fabrics in Lexington,
and retired from the University of Kentucky. A graduate of Bourbon County High School, she studied
Web Programming and Design at Bluegrass Community Technical College.
She was active in many community programs, including the Kiwanis Clubs of Cynthiana, Lexington,
and Paris, Boy Scouts, and the Bourbon County Pumpkin Festival. She loved crafts of all kinds, and
enjoyed entering canned jams and other items at State Fair competitions for many years.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Mitchell, of Paris, and stepson, Kent Breunig.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ken Breunig, Sr., of Paris; mother, Betty Mitchell, Paris;
sister, Tammy (Marshall) Ewing of Lexington; Tammy (Marshall) Ewing of Lexington; stepsons, Mickey
Breunig of Versailles and Larry (Pam) Breunig of Springfield, along with step-grandchildren, Aaron,
Carolyn, Jackson, and Reed Breunig.
Cremation was chosen, with a private burial and celebration of life. Expressions of sympathy may be
made to Hospice, the St. Dominic School Library in Springfield, or the civic group or charity of your
choosing.
