Obituary for Jean Cummins Ware

JEAN CUMMINS WARE, age 82, Frankfort Street, Brooksville, died Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Hospice Care Center of Lexington. Born in Bracken County, March 18, 1928, to the late G. T. and Hallie Nesbitt Cummins, she was a homemaker and a member of Powersville Baptist Church. She was a member of The Book Club of Bracken County, The Bracken County Garden Club, the Scarlett O'Hatters and the Farmerette Homemakers of Bracken County. Mrs. Ware was a member of the Women's Missionary Union of the Powersville Baptist Church, the Mt. Olivet 333 Order of Eastern Star and was currently serving on the Powersville Cemetery Board. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Ware and a brother, Guerney T. Cummins, Jr.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Thomas "Tom" and Polly Ware, Cynthiana; a daughter, Barbara Ann Ware, Brooksville; a sister, Marjorie Peacock, Lexington; four grandchildren, Dr. Rachel Ware Miller and her husband, Josh, Lexington, Rebecca Ware Huff and her husband, Josh, and their son, Cain, Liberty Township, Ohio, Thomas Ware and his wife, Julie, and their daughter, Maci, Cynthiana and Emily Ware Payton and her husband, Joseph, and their son, Jackson, Cynthiana.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday by Pastor Dan Collard at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in Powersville Cemetery, Bracken County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Powersville Cemetery, c/o Virginia Ann Bowles, 55 Willow-Neave Road, Brooksville, Kentucky 41004.
