Jerry Wayne Hicks, 57, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Lexington, KY, on October 23, 1965, to the late Nancy Whalen Hicks. Besides his mom, he is also preceded in death by a son, Raymond “Little Ray” Lowell Hicks; and grandparents, Raymond and Jessie Whalen.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Nicole Sosbe Hicks; a son, Jared Hicks; three daughters, Bridget (Dakota) Hicks Rice, Brooke (Camron) Hicks Schalch, Mary-Katherine Hicks; a brother, Kevin Hicks; and four grandchildren, Kanaan Rice, Kinlee Rice, Klayton Rice, and Aubrey Schalch.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Ware Funeral Home. Reverend Mitch Farthing, and Brother Rob Stanley, will officiate services, and burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Ware Funeral Home. Pallbearers are as follows: Brandon Hicks, Kevin Hicks, Mike Sosbe, Erik Flaig, Dakota Rice, and Camron Schalch. Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Harrison County Volunteer Fire Department, Harrison County Bus Garage, and Poindexter Lumber. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ware Funeral Home to go toward funeral expenses.
