Obituary for Jerry Wayne Lemons

Jerry Wayne Lemons, of Cynthiana, age 79, passed away on April 1, 2024, at the Lexington VA Center. He was born on May 11, 1944, to the late William Robert and Rhoda Ann Stanfield Lemons. Jerry was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Thomas Lemons, William Allen Lemons, Moses Lemons; and a sister, Louetta Vickers.
Jerry is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Janice Louise Mitchell Lemons; one son, Ethan (Stacy) Wayne Lemons; daughters, Kimberly Lemons, Tracey Lemons, Kehla Maria Castle; two brothers, Keith (Mary) Lemons, Roger (Debbie) Lemons; sisters, Jane Ann Wiggins, Viola Traylor, Eula Belle (Larry) Strausbaugh; grandchildren, Stephen (Heather) Lemons, Kaylea Joe (Chase) Highlander, Whitley Brooke (Presley Jackson) Lemons, Maximus Kash Bowling, Titus Kole Bowling; three great grandchildren, Cayden Banks, Eliza Highlander, Oliver Highlander; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a Vietnam veteran, he did woodworking, enjoyed reading, watching westerns, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was always on call for friends that needed help with a heating or air emergency. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to services from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. also at Ware Funeral Home. Pastor Jerry Eubanks will preside over services, burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrier Project, P.O.
