Obituary for Jobie Franklin Howard

Jobie Franklin Howard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky on June 9, 1943, to the late Pvt Jobie Vernon Howard and Ruby and Norvil Webber. He was a member of Unity Christian Church and retired from 3M.
He is survived by the love of his life for over forty years, wife Brenda Stubbs Howard. His children Melissa (Mark) Mattox, Jim (Tina) Howard, Traci (Shayne) Dahmer, Cayce (Chris) Reffett, Shane Bartels and Aimee Bartels. He is also survived by a host of extended family including the apples of his eyes, grandchildren Jon (Kara) Mattox, Rachel (Jake) Carr, Jamison Merriman, Morgan (Kyle) Hill, Hanna (Hunter) Grooms, Shawn Dahmer, Daniel Bartels, Ryley Dahmer, Calvin Bartels, Lance Collins, Brendan Dahmer, Kaity Bartels, Julius and Kayson Dahmer as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Jobie will be remembered as a quiet man with a gentle soul and a pocketful of candy that he shared with everyone. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and serving his time as the superintendent at his church. Jobie loved to travel, and he and his wife began circling the world by boat and plane after the kids left home. He shared his own special funny language with his family that brought them lots of laughter right up until his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Ware Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Pastor Jake Carr and Brother Bruce Templeton will preside over services with burial following at Raven Creek Cemetery. Jobie’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
