Obituary for Johnnie Elwood Coffey

JOHNNIE ELWOOD COFFEY, age 77, Cynthiana, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Rockcastle County, March 31, 1938 to the late George and Martha Chasteen Coffey, he was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting coins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Janice Franklin Coffey; a son, John David Coffey; two brothers, Monroe Coffey and Wilburn Coffey and a sister, Carol Wright.

He is survived by his companion, Rosalind Linville Curtis, Mt. Olivet; three daughters, Kathy (Scott Keefer) Yazell and Lisa Blake, both of Lexington and Robin (Efrain) Bartolome, Georgetown; three brothers, Robert Coffey, Bracken County, Dave Coffey, Harrison County and Mike Coffey, Cynthiana; two sisters, Lou Grayson and Helen Slade, both of Harrison County; four grandchildren, Brandi (Christopher) Morse, Justin (Rebecca Navarre) Coffey, Brittney Blake and Ryan Blake; a great grandson, Miles Navarre and several nieces and nephews. Johnnie loved his companion's children, Mae Jolly, Sandra Fryman and Wayman Tilton, all of Mt. Olivet and Anita Riley, Tollesboro; grandchildren, Marsha Jones, Brandy Flack, Jeremy Fryman, Sydney Ellis, Tabitha Tilton, Koty Riley, Lexy Riley and Carrie Jolly and great grandchildren, Julia Jones, Lily Jones, Tyler Tilton, Haley Flack, Addisston Flack, Evan Ellis and Finley Ellis as his own family.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home by Sammy Harris with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
