Obituary for Juanita Ann Poe Curtis

JUANITA ANN POE CURTIS, age 69, Mt. Olivet, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in Bracken County, March 31, 1943 to late William Earl Poe and Emma Litzinger Poe Cooper, she was a Deming School bus driver for fourteen years, manager and founder of the Kentucky Kandy Kitchen and a member of the Robertson County Life Squad and Robertson County Fire Department. Mrs. Curtis was a thirty-five year member of the Robertson County Homemakers and she never missed a meeting and held numerous positions. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Newton Curtis; a granddaughter, Angela Hayes and two brothers, Jimmy Poe and Carley Poe.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Curtis, Robertson County and William "Pete" (Angela) Curtis, Mt. Olivet; a daughter, Emma "Missy" Dalton, Lexington; two sisters, Janice (Hap) Baas, Texas and Agnes (Ed) Ashbrook, Cincinnati; a half-brother, Wayne (Jeannie) Cooper, Robertson County; two half-sisters, Carolyn (Jimmy) Fulton, Robertson County and Glenda (Stanley) Schiltz, Bracken County; four grandchildren, Jason (Jan) Curtis, Jamie Curtis, Jessica Curtis and Katie Curtis; two special friends, Ann Hester and Patsy McBride and a special pet, Miss Kitt.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Doug Wright. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Time Homemakers, c/o Patsy McBride, Rt. 2, Mt. Olivet, Kentucky 41064.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Burton, Alan Burton, Scott Johnson, Doug Wright, Gary Shields and John Wagoner. Honorary pallbearers will be Rooster Mitchell, Richard Anness, Jason Curtis, Jamie Curtis and Jimmy Staggs.
