Judith Evelyn Magee (née Moreland)
June 4, 1932 - September 11, 2021
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness the family of Judy Magee announces her passing on September 11, 2021 at the age of 89 years following a short illness.
Judy was born in Pendleton County, KY on June 4, 1932. Being one of seven siblings born to John and Daisy Moreland. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred (Cleva) Harper, Jane (George) Beadle, Doris (Gordon) Miles, Wilma Joyce (Bob) Stewart; two brothers, Raymond (Wanda) Moreland and Melvin (Janette) Moreland.
Judy made Cynthiana, KY her permanent home in 1965 and was a loving friend to many and well known in her neighborhood for being an excellent cook who often shared her delicious food with her neighbors and friends. Her famous rum cake was always a hit. Her family knew her as the Mom or Mamaw who always had an ice cream cone and cookie for her little friends, or a coconut cream pie baked for the big kids.
She absolutely loved music and playing her piano whether it was the old-time favorite hymns or country music favorites. Holidays were always more joyful with those fun sing-alongs in her living room.
Judy is survived by her husband, Davis Magee; three children, Patty Lawson (Alex) Manzano, Pam Lawson (Joe) Laytart, Scott (Tender) Turner and a bonus son Allan (Bridgett) Magee. She was grieving the loss of her son, Michael (Yvonne) Turner, who recently preceded her in death on August 9, 2021.
She leaves behind 18 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Her final care has been entrusted to Ware Funeral Home of Cynthiana, KY where her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15th at 1:00 PM with Brother Wayne Tolson officiating.
