Obituary for Kenneth L Whitaker
Kenneth Levi Whitaker, age 74, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Hamilton County, OH on August 11, 1946 to the late Raymond Benjamin and Ruth Goodloe Levi Whitaker. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ava Florence Gaunce.
Kennie could be found most days walking the floors at TC Florence Tobacco Warehouse, helping local farmers selling tobacco. He could also be found on the family farm doing what he loved and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Helen Florence Whitaker; a son, Chad Levi Whitaker; two daughters, Michele W. (Mike) Gaunce, Susan W. Curtis; two brothers, Donald R. (Sue) Whitaker, Darrell K. (Melody) Whitaker; one sister, Marilyn Ruth Huffman; six grandchildren, Ashley Daniel, Erin (Aaron) Tubbs, Jonathan (Vonda) Gaunce, Andrew Curtis, Joshua (Rachel) Curtis, Whitney Whitaker; and seven great-grandchildren, Adalyn Gaunce, Abram Gaunce, Alden Gaunce, Jacob Daniel, Clayton Daniel, Sawyer Curtis, and Kendall Curtis.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28th at 4:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM. Father Harry Settle will officiate. Burial will be private at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Gaunce, Paul Daniel, Aaron Tubbs, Andrew Curtis, Josh Curtis, Will Sparks, and Tony Ramsey.
