Kimberly Jean Sumpter Day, age 57, Cynthiana, died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Cynthiana on April 20, 1965 to the late Billy Joe and Jo Linda Tussey Sumpter. Kimberly was a state registered nursing assistant for 27 years, dedicating her life caring for and about others. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Krystal Renee (Richard) Sumpter Harney.
She is survived by her significant other, Jeffrey “Koogle” Turner; a son, Matthew (Jacqueline Mitchell) Sumpter; a daughter, Erica Jo (Adam Wellman) Sumpter; three brothers, Billy Joe (Kelly) Sumpter, Jr., Barry Sumpter and Michael Ross Sumpter; a sister, April Joy (Michael) Massey and three grandchildren, Kalleigh Mattalynn Sumpter, Chloe Paige Stanfield and Rickey Adam Wellman, Jr.
