Obituary for Larence Burns

LARENCE BURNS, age 82, Mt. Olivet, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Born in Paris, April 16, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Velsia Clay Chamberlain Burns, he was a farmer, land owner, member of Piqua Methodist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel recipient. Mr. Burns loved to work and could spot an arrowhead a mile away. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mayola Burns and Christine Froman and two half-sisters, Norman Lee Jones and Erma Dee Snapp.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Orme Burns; three sons, Larry (Marcedia) Burns, Mt. Olivet, Edsel Ford (Suzanne) Cummins, Brooksville and John T. (Sally) Burns, Mt. Olivet; one daughter, Kathy (Darrell) Williams, Germantown; a brother, Paul (Elaine) Burns, Mt. Olivet; three sisters, Joanne (Franklin) Clark, Tollesboro, Joyce (Royce) Myers, Mt. Olivet and Tilda (Darrell) Cracraft, Maysville; eight grandchildren, Jeff Williams, Brent Williams, Nicole Browning, Natasha Maddox, Chris Cummins, Haley Burns, Joseph Burns and Holly Burns and ten great grandchildren,

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday at Robertson County Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Mt. Olivet.
