Obituary for Mark C. "Poppy" Patrick

Mark C. “Poppy” Patrick, 60, of Cynthiana, passed away March 9, 2022, at his home. Mark was born in Harrison County on September 1, 1961, to Betty Smiley Patrick and the late Melvin Eugene Patrick. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by grandparents, Raphael and Gertrude Patrick, and Clarence and Elsie Smiley.
He is survived by his wife, Kathi G. Patrick; two sons, Chris (Mandy) Denniston, and Jake (Lauren) Denniston; four grandchildren, Madelynn, Logan, Ava, and Cora Denniston; three sisters, Pam (Butch) Pierce of North Carolina, Dian (Mike) Osbourne of Lexington, and Sandy (Larry) Singleton of Georgia; a sister-n-law, Martha Whitaker; a brother-n-law, John (Becky) Galbreath; four nieces, Rachel, Katy, Courtney and Elizabeth; two nephews, Josh and Austin; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, nephews and special friends; as well as two beloved dogs, Agnes and Floyd.
Mark was a life-long member, and current chairman of the board, of Curry United Methodist Church, and a 42 year employee of the Harrison County Water Association. He was also a former member of the Harrison County Fire Protection District Board, and was a true all-around sports fan, but his loyalty never drifted from his UK Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys.
A visitation will be held at Ware Funeral Home on Monday, March 14th, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be at 7:00 P.M., directly following visitation. There will be a private burial for the family at a later date.
