Mary Jean Snapp Anderson, age 79 passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at UK Medical Center. She was born in Nicholas County on October 3, 1941 to the late Rev. Thoburn Clay Snapp and Clara Mae Hedges Adams. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Thomas Anderson; one son, Jimmy Allen Anderson; and one brother, Charles Slater Snapp.
She was a former volunteer at Southside Elementary and the Middle School.
She is survived by five sons, Terry Lee (Dale Hodge) Stroub of Lexington, Charles Bradley (Kathy) Stroub, James Todd (Anita Farris) Anderson, David Alan Anderson, Justin (April) Anderson; one daughter, Ronda Lynn Stroub, all of Cynthiana; two sisters, Doris Lee Walker, Ruth Snapp; four grandchildren, Chris (Morgan) Linville, Shawn (Aliceson) Stroub, Samantha (Jason) Rice, Emily Anderson; and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 14th at 11:00 AM at Ware Funeral Home, with Samantha Rice officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be in Carlisle Cemetery.
