RAYMOND MCDOWELL, age 90, Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Robertson County, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Born in Robertson County, May 3, 1921 to the late Roscoe and Childress Payner McDowell, he was retired factory worker for General Motors Company, a United States Army Veteran during World War II and Prisoner of War for fourteen months in Germany. Mr. McDowell is a member of the Dayton Area Chapter American Ex-Prisoners of War, Dayton VFW and Dayton POW Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Dolle McDowell; two sisters, Helen Stoker and Mary Moore.

He is survived by two brothers, Eugene "Buck" McDowell, Robertson County and Carlis McDowell, Falmouth.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Pastor Tim Buttrey with visitation at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
