Obituary for Rebecca Gifford Adamson

REBECCA "BECKY" GIFFORD ADAMSON, age 92, Mt. Olivet, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at her residence. Born in Robertson County, April 28, 1917, to the late Claude and Madie Cooper Gifford, she was a twenty- four-year retired employee of Clyde's Super Value and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Mrs. Adamson was a talented seamstress and loved quilting. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ray Adamson; four brothers, Julian Gifford, Lovell Gifford, Clayton Gifford and Lemuel Gifford and five sisters, Elva A. Reed, Mary K. Myers, Imogene Myers, Ann Watson and Audrey Kreutz.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Ray Adamson and Larry G. (Janice) Adamson, both of Mt. Olivet; a brother, Roger Gifford, Flemingsburg; two grandchildren, Tracy (Jenny Day) Adamson and Terry Adamson and two great grandchildren, Natalie Marie Adamson and Emily Rose Adamson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Ron Spencer and Rev. Kevin Thomas. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Hope.
