Obituary for Rita Ann Johnson
Rita Ann (Penney) Johnson, age 71 passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 at UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center. She was born in Harrison County on September 1, 1949 to the late Amos Penney and Rose Stone. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one nephew, RoKeith White; and two sisters, Vesta Cummins, and Alberta Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Roanya Johnson-Rice, Deonya (David) Muhammad; three brothers, Anthony Penney, Amos Penney Jr., Arty Penney Sr.; three sisters, Evelyn LaFaye Gross, Audrey Penney, Vanessa Lanter; three grandchildren, Elijah, Joshua, Imani Muhammad; and four nieces and nephews, Jermaine Cummins, Cartia Cummins Cobbins, Stormi Cummins Stafford, and Michael Stone.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 19th at 1:30 PM at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
