Obituary for Robert Allen Barlow
Robert Allen Barlow, age 78, passed to his heavenly home Friday, January 29, 2021 from his residence in Columbus, OH. He was born in Covington, KY on July 9, 1942 to the late Samuel Wallace Barlow and Pearl Knight “Peggy” Hampton Barlow, and spent his childhood near Cynthiana, KY.
Bob was a proud 1964 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. Following college Bob moved to Columbus, OH and taught junior high school for six years with South-Western City Schools. Then, combining his love of people, woodworking and drafting he began a long, satisfying career in real estate, selling new custom-built homes for premier central Ohio homebuilders. He was active in the Columbus BIA, held both realtor and broker licenses and was known throughout the local building industry for his good humor, knowledge and integrity.
Bob was an active lifelong Christian, most recently serving at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. Next to his God he loved his family above all else.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Pamela Lewis Barlow; one son, Brandt (Esther) Barlow; one daughter, Tonya (Rodney) Lynch; one sister, Faye Caroline (Kenneth) Overhults; two grandchildren; Alycia (Craig) Ward, Mackenzie Lynch; one aunt, Maurita (Curtis) Reeves; two nephews, Kevin (Anath) Qualls, Kent (Irene) Qualls; and numerous cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 1st at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
