Obituary for Rogers Eugene Cain
Rogers Eugene Cain, age 71, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at his home in Cynthiana. He was born on December 31, 1951, to the late Edward Eugene and Doy Fay Bussey Cain. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Cain.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Jean Lovejoy Cain; a son, Paul (Tricia) Cain; a daughter, Crystal (James) Smith; two brothers, Edward Paul Cain, Billy (Chuckie) Andrews; two sisters, Kathleen (Bob) Roush, Dorris (Michael) Cochran; six grandchildren, Mason (Shannon) Cain, Michayla (James) Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Breanna Smith, Dalton Smith, Stephanie Maybrier; and his best friend, Cocoa.
Rogers served in the US Navy from 1971 to 1976, he was a Kentucky Colonel, an Eagle Scout, he was active in the Masonic Lodge, and in Shriners. He loved his grandchildren, he enjoyed woodworking, and giving those he loved a hard time. Rogers will be missed by many.
Masonic Services will begin at 1:00 P.M., with the funeral services beginning directly after this, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to services, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. also at Ware Funeral Home. Rev. Terry McDuffey will lead services, burial will follow services at Battle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Cain, James Smith, Mason Cain, Andrew Wilson, James Corona, Edward Paul Cain. Honorary pallbearers include his special friend Randy Cole, and Jay Sanders.
