Obituary for Ruby Dale Hopkins King
RUBY DALE HOPKINS KING, age 70, Ewing, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Robertson County Health Care Facility. Born in Mason County, February 27, 1942 to the late Truman and Goldie Florence Hopkins, she was a homemaker, graduate of Mayslick High School in 1960, a member of the Ewing Woman's Club and enjoyed gardening, making crafts and entering them in local fairs. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved watching their sport activities, working with her husband on the farm and was a caregiver to her mother, sister and others in the community. Mrs. King was an active member of New Corinth Church of Christ where she served as secretary and served the Lord faithfully. She loved life and will be missed by her family and all those she touched. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Hopkins.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L. King; three sons, Terry (Teresa) King, Tony (Pam) King and Troy (Cindy) King, all of Mt. Olivet; four brothers, Marvin (Janet) Hopkins, Dayton, Ohio, Everette (Carol) Hopkins, Augusta, Herb (Jackie) Hopkins, Maysville and Robert (Peggy) Hopkins, Maysville; five sisters, Gertrude O'Cull, Maysville, Mary (Samuel) Hunt, Maysville, Martha (Wayne) Combs, Maysville, Betty (Jackie) Sweet, Maysville and Joyce Cox, Flemingsburg; eight grandchildren, Brad (Karen) King, Luke King, Kyle King, Sarah King, Chad King, Mikayla King, Ryan (Tia) Henson and Adam (Jana) Henson and three great grandchildren, Ava King, Joshua Ross and Tenley Henson.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Dee Whitaker with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Corinth Church of Christ c/o Thomas Mitchell, 2864 Piqua-Kentontown Road, Mt. Olivet, Kentucky 41064.
