Obituary for Russell Lee Bishop Jr.

Russell Lee Bishop, Jr. age 72, Foster, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Covington on February 6, 1950 to the late Russell Lee, Sr. and Myrtle Downard Bishop, he was a farmer and loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Russ loved his family and gave nicknames to all. He was active in Berlin Baptist Church for years as a deacon and Sunday school teacher until his stroke. He also ran Country Boy Trailers and enjoyed all his customers, paying or loafing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Gerhard Bishop; his sons, Scotty (Susan) Bishop, Shad (Beth) Bishop, Tony (Janet) Bishop and Tim (Andrea) Bishop; six grandsons, Andrew (Catherine) Bishop, Layne (Morgan) Bishop, Tristan (Cassidy) Bishop, Sawyer Bishop, Evan Bishop and Landen Bishop; nine granddaughters, Carrissa (Trent) Daugherty, Cassandra (Adam) Marsh, Samantha (Kody) Jarrells, Autumn (Matt) Plummer, Nicole (Spenser) Weiss, Jorden Bishop, Leah Bishop, Lillie Bishop and Kerrington Bishop; a proud great grandfather to Kara, Emma and Hanna Bishop, Rylee Marsh, Rivers Plummer, Wyatt Bishop, Vivianne Jarrells, Charleigh Marsh, Callum Weiss and Kinsley Marsh and due soon, Rayna Bishop, Harper Bishop and Baby Marsh.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Augusta, 300 East Fourth Street, Augusta, Kentucky 41002 by Pastor Tony Bishop with visitation at 10:00 A.M. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Bishop Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Andrew Bishop, Layne Bishop, Tristan Bishop, Sawyer Bishop, Evan Bishop and Landen Bishop. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Teegarden, John Wallace, Trent Daughtery, Adam Marsh, Matt Plummer, Kody Jarrells, Spenser Weiss and Chris Nelson.
