Obituary for Sue Carol Orme Hornbeck

SUE CAROL ORME HORNBECK, age 70, Mt. Olivet, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital Mt. Sterling. Born in Robertson County, January 25, 1939, to the late Clay Nelson and Ruby Roselyn Adkins Orme, she was a retired business teacher of forty years. Sue was not only the �super-Mom� and Nanny, she was a devoted sister and �mother� to many of her students, nieces and nephews. She was a loving, caring friend to so many others � always willing to go the extra mile. She was always there for her family. Mrs. Hornbeck was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and graduated from Georgetown College and Morehead College. She spent her entire school and teaching career at Deming High School in Mt. Olivet. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hornbeck; three brothers, Edwin B. Orme, Charles L. Orme and Pearl Donald Orme and two sisters, Mary C. Ross and Donna Marie Insko.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ruth (Wayne) Hughes and Marsha (Jason) Turner, both of Mt. Olivet; two sisters, Phyllis Orme Banks, CocoaBeach, Florida and Roselyn Orme (Hoover) Vanlandingham, Owingsville; five grandchildren, Casey Hughes, Ashley Hughes, Jacob Turner, Carley Turner and Nathan Turner; twenty seven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday at Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Jonathan Lewis and Bro. Kevin Thomas. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers will be Randy Vanlandingham, Tony Vanlandingham, Owen Goddard, Mike Insko, Chuck Insko and Bob Insko. Tommy Clay Orme will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
