Obituary for Wanda Lee Wheary

WANDA LEE WHEARY, age 92, Mt. Olivet, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Robertson County, July 29, 1921 to the late Nelson and Bertha Hester Stevenson, she was a homemaker, waitress, clerk for the dry goods store, employee of the Royal Theatre and a member of the Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church. Wanda enjoyed raising beautiful flowers, quilting, oil painting, sewing and collecting antiques. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Mack Stevenson, Hershel "Buck" Stevenson and Lidal Stevenson and a sister, Thelma Austin.

She is survived by her husband of seventy-five years, Charles L. Wheary; a son, Mickey (Janie Burns) Wheary, Mt. Olivet and three special friends, Betty Hanson, Judy Fields and Wayne Buckler.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Robertson County Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church or one's favorite charity.
