William Cecil “Billy” Beckett, age 78, Cynthiana, died Monday, November 14, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Harrison County on October 25, 1944 to the late Shelton and Alice Dance Beckett, he was a retired truck driver and a member of Beaver Baptist Church and the Harrison County Good Sam’s Camping Club. Billy was a former employee of St. Joseph Hospital Mobile Cath Lab, Lexington Fire Department, Cynthiana Fire Department and Harrison County Fire Department. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Parker Sims; two brothers, David Joe Beckett and Harold Beckett and two sisters, Sue Hughes and Anna Mary Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Diana French Beckett; a son, Mahlon Sims; a daughter, Kimberly (Alan) Michalek; a sister, Nancy McClure; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M Saturday at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kentontown Cemetery. View and sign the guestbook at www.warefuneralhome.com
