Obituary for William Lane Franklin
William Lane Franklin, age 55, passed away on April 8, 2022, in Augusta, GA. He was born in Harrison County on June 29, 1966, to Ronald Franklin and the late Becky Brown Franklin.
Lane wasn’t elected, he wasn’t famous, but around here he was well-known. He could always be spotted at any sporting event by his backwards white hat. From an early age he worked on the family farm, then was known for playing basketball in Harrison County, and finally as being a Nationwide ticket broker. His presence will be missed terribly by family, friends, and the bluegrass state.
Besides his father, Lane is survived by his son, Bretten Franklin; his sister, Julie Franklin Northcutt and niece Kaylee Brooke Northcutt; grandson, Cashton Franklin; grand-daughter, Aevea Mosley-Franklin; and daughter-in-law, Andrea Barnett. Lane was also a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, as well as the American Legion Post 24.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 19th at 1:00 PM at Grace Christian Church, 1648 Lexington Rd., Georgetown, KY 40324. Officiating the service will be Bill Mck Wiggins. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Grace Christian Church. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery.
