Obituary for William Carroll Hughes

WILLIAM CARROLL HUGHES, age 77, Mt. Olivet, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born in Mason County, May 3, 1935 to the late William Byrd and Mary Louise Pumpelly Hughes, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son and granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Hughes; two sons, Billy Hughes, Cynthiana and Wayne (Mary Ruth) Hughes, Robertson County; a daughter, Caroline Sue Hughes, Robertson County;a brother, Larry (Sandra) Hughes, Robertson County; a sister, Mary Lou (Kevin) Clark, Mason County; three grandchildren, Karla (Brian) Flynn, Casey (Justin) Doyle and Ashley Marie Hughes and a great grandchild, Garrett Flynn.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Robertson County by Bro. Doug Wright. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Olivet-Robertson County Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 93, Mt. Olivet, Kentucky 41064.
Pallbearers will be Lorne Hughes, Brian Flynn, Justin Doyle, Jeff Houchens, John Taylor, Billy Stitt and Jay White.
